Dissecting microscopes, main lab
Dissecting microscopes, binocular microscopes, trinocular microscopes - microscopes of all makes, sizes, shapes, optical capabilities - microscopes are one type of scientific instrument the station has in abundance. In fact, we have far more than we can actually use, and have even tried to give away our considerable surplus, but the funny thing is, nobody wants them. Not even the local schools. Maybe if more science were being taught... Free to a good home (email Austrop for more details).

Station lathe, workshop
Not just for carpenters! The lathe at the station is used to machine parts for various pieces of equipment at the station to make vital repairs at the station possible in-house. In a remote location like Cape Tribulation, repairs are often expensive or just plain unavailable.
