We had another Christine - this time from Canada - en route to Asia to work as a natural therapist (we attract a wide variety here!) Christine did sterling work by refurbishing the doors and railings of the Bat House (which were looking more than a little scrappy.) In the process she found more ants that she bargained for - the doors had become infested with a giant ant (species ?) - which swarmed over everything.
and the doors had to be reconstructed to prevent them getting back in. In the end the doors almost looked like new (except for the holes where the ants had chewed through - and discoloration where they died en masse inside..)
The Bat House (which had been closed since January) now has a new Global Warming display. This is probably the only such display that I am aware of in Australia! - and it is interesting to watch people's reactions (or non-reactions) to it.
There remains some degree of upgrade of the other displays, plus 2 new solar panels on the roof tower. Still a lot to do..
