Flying Fox Rehabilitation
Pam Tully at her release cage in Kuranda

Pam Tully at her release cage in Kuranda, on the tablelands west of Cairns. Here the juveniles, who have been mostly reared alone, make contact with other juveniles, and with adult flying foxes from the adjacent colony. Over a period of several months, the great majority of the juveniles leave the release cage and join the colony.

Another important rehabilitator in the Atherton area is Jenny Maclean at the Tolga Bat Hospital

Stephen is a spectacled flying baby fox who was rescued from the Boswell Farm in 2000. He's not looking entirely trusting of his new friends considering what he had just gone through, having his mother incinerated next to him. He was succesfully raised and released back to the wild.
